In spring of 2009, The James Monroe Museum and Memorial Library was closing for renovations for a six-month period. Looking for a way to maintain the presence of the museum, they contacted Cave House Studios to produce a series of documentary web-videos of the museum’s exhibits.

The museum already had a basic script ready of each exhibit for tour guides to use and get familiar with the exhibit. A tour guide volunteered to be the voice talent and we recorded her audio as the track to use underlying the video of the exhibit.

We then recorded footage of the museums many artifacts, items, and displays. Combining this footage with public domain imagery of historic figures and landmarks would provide us with the insight into the life of James Monroe. Each video covers topics such as Monroe’s time as President, diplomat, and revolutionary soldier.

The final result was then exported and compressed to FLV format for use on the James Monroe Museum’s website.
